Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Endowed Chair for Urban and Regional Studies

The continuous growth of population brings about a rapid growth of cities, villages and a big demand for services and re-designing of the infra structure. This growth and demand lead to regional development and may negatively impact the environment and natural resources. Issues involved are numerous and interconnected and need to be carefully studied to avoid any unforeseen serious consequences.

HRH Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd took the initiative to establish Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Chair for Urban and Regional Studies at the Dammam University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Chair undertakes research and studies in areas related to urban and regional development. This would include studies and research into rural development, housing, services, infrastructure and facilities.

The Chair aims at providing scientific and applied results that would serve the community locally and Kingdom wide.

The Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Chair for Urban and Regional Studies was officially launched in 2010.
